THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE POWER OF THE CHURCH
AND
THE KEY TO THE ABUNDANT LIFE.
HUMILITY AND THE FEAR OF THE LORD TURN THE KEY.

Jesus left us a key…..but a lot of people are unaware of it.   He left it with the church, and the church doesn’t talk about it much.  And  because it’s in the church, the public at large doesn’t even know it’s there.  The public has seen the failings of the church in the last few decades and they don’t want anything to do with religion.

Consequently, because of misunderstandings in the church and with the public at large, the key remains “hidden” ….”gathering dust”….going unused….and in some cases it is lost all together.  The key is the “master key”, because it opens all the doors that need to be opened and locks the doors that need to be kept closed.

The key is the Holy Spirit.

For the people in the church, it opens up our relationship with Jesus.  It leads us to the abundant life filled with love, joy, wisdom, and grace while we are here on this earth.  And…..it leads us to heaven when it is time to move on.  But sometimes because of misuse, confusion, fear, and hurt…. the Holy Spirit gets put in the closet.  We know it is there but we don’t use it much …..seldom  calling on the power of the Holy Spirit for help or change.

For the public, they have seen the wrong doors the church has opened that should have stayed locked.  These doors revealed the failings of the leaders in the institution of “religion”, and the public  has decided to look elsewhere for guidance.  They have no idea that the church is about a relationship and has nothing to do with religion.  When in fact,  the institution of “religion” is responsible  for crucifying Jesus.

I like the man in the key above.  It’s humorous.  He has climbed up a hill,  and he is hanging on to the lamp post to get some light so he can read in the dark.  He solved the problem, but it’s a little precarious.

Sort of like where the church at large is at today….hanging on.  Maybe that’s your feeling too…..hanging on in this life.  Time to use the key, come in from the dark,  ……get some light.
