STONE WALLS

The Incas were stone masons.  Their work was perfect….it has lasted anywhere from 500 years to 800 years ….so far…..and  still going.  Their joints are tight, there is no settlement, and the walls are still plumb.  Nobody knows how they did it.  Look closely at the one stone on the left….it has 12 sides…and the fit is perfect.  There is no mortar…it’s dry stack…held in place by gravity…and  bedrock is the wall’s foundation.

There is a lesson in those walls….and it applies to the church…. Jesus taught it to us.  When you are building a church, the first lesson is you have to build on a firm foundation…build on bedrock…  Jesus is that rock.  Next the walls will be built out of individual stones and each one is unique….but they all need to fit.  The third lesson is people will have to accept one another if you are going to fit together ….sort of like that 12 sided rock.  I think he had to give a bit in order to fit….doesn’t mean his foundation changed, just means he accepted others the way they are, and he let them be….

(And,  some of those stones had to give a bit for him as well, but  with the passing of time, who can remember.)

That’s what happens when you love one another, you achieve unity….and everyone fits.  The last lesson,  ……the wall and the stones in the church are held in place by an invisible force….it’s a force similar to gravity….it’s the love of God.  That is the strongest force in the universe because ……..

He is the force that created the universe…and God is Love.

Someday we will meet that force…we will see and feel God….….we will see Light and we will feel Love.  The Light of God with all its infinite colors will pass through our very being as though we were a window….and….we will feel the Love of God and the Forgiveness of God….not only for ourselves, but for all mankind.   Indescribable.  Then, and only then…. will we see “clearly”….and will we  “fully understand” what Jesus told us:

God is Light

and

God is Love
